  5. You/Your: Refers to the customer engaging our Services or placing an Order.

  6. Fitters: Personnel employed or contracted by Carpet Corner to carry out installation, fitting, and related services.

1. General

These Terms and Conditions govern all orders, sales, and services provided by Carpet Corner. By engaging our services, you agree to abide by these terms. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

2. Pricing and Payment

All prices quoted by Carpet Corner are inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT), unless explicitly stated otherwise. Prices are subject to change at any time and without prior notice, depending on fluctuations in costs, supplier prices, or other market conditions. Payment terms will be clearly outlined at the time of sale and must be agreed upon by the customer. All payments for products and services must be made in full as per the agreed terms. Accepted payment methods include cash, debit card, and bank transfer. Payment must be received in accordance with the specified payment terms before the commencement of any work or delivery unless otherwise agreed in writing.

3. Measuring and Estimating Service

Carpet Corner provides a complimentary, no-obligation measuring and estimating service to support customers in making informed decisions for their flooring projects. While our team aims for complete accuracy in all measurements and estimates, these figures are intended as guidance only, and it remains the customer’s responsibility to review and verify all measurements and estimated requirements prior to placing an order. Carpet Corner shall not be held liable for any discrepancies, adjustments, or additional costs arising from unverified measurements or changes to room specifications after the initial estimate.

In the event of an error in our measurements, we may, at our discretion, offer to correct the issue as an act of goodwill; however, this is not guaranteed, and ultimate responsibility for verification remains with the customer. Any additional adjustments or re-measurements requested by the customer after order confirmation may incur extra charges.

4. Orders and Product Availability

All orders placed with Carpet Corner are subject to acceptance, which includes verification of product availability at the time of order processing. While we make every effort to ensure the products you order are in stock, product availability is not guaranteed and is subject to change based on factors such as supplier stock levels, order volumes, and any unforeseen disruptions to our supply chain.

In the event that an ordered item is unavailable, we will notify you promptly. Should an item be out of stock or discontinued, we will offer suitable alternatives where possible, or, if no suitable alternatives are available, we may provide a credit note, partial refund, or full refund at our discretion. Please note that in cases where a full refund is legally required, we will comply with all relevant regulations. However, outside of such legal obligations, the decision to issue a credit note, partial refund, or full refund will be at our discretion.

We reserve the right to amend the pricing or availability of any products at any time and will notify customers of such changes prior to processing the order. While we strive to provide accurate stock information, unforeseen circumstances may lead to occasional discrepancies. Carpet Corner cannot be held liable for any inconvenience caused by such issues. If an alternative product is offered, the customer may choose to accept the substitution or proceed with a credit note, refund, or partial refund, as deemed appropriate by Carpet Corner.

5. Installation, Delivery and Assembly

While we provide estimated installation and delivery dates and times in good faith, these are subject to change due to the unpredictable nature of the work. As a result, we cannot guarantee exact arrival or completion times, nor can we accept liability for any delays. Although we strive to maintain punctuality, unforeseen circumstances may cause delays. We recommend planning accordingly and avoiding the scheduling of other services immediately after the installation or delivery to accommodate any potential changes. In the event of unforeseen delays, such as adverse weather, transport issues, or technical problems, Carpet Corner will make every effort to notify you as soon as possible. While we aim to minimise disruption, we cannot be held responsible for delays caused by external factors.

Customers are responsible for providing clear access to the installation or delivery site. Any delays or additional work due to access issues may incur extra charges. For installations, our fitting service is typically carried out by Carpet Corner-employed fitters, but where necessary, Carpet Corner may outsource to a third-party installer.

For delivery and assembly services, our team will work to arrange a convenient delivery time to minimise disruption. Clear access is required to complete delivery and assembly efficiently. If the delivery area is not accessible or prepared as required, this may result in delays and/or additional charges. Carpet Corner will not be responsible for any assembly-related issues caused by restricted access or unprepared spaces.

The fitting service includes the installation of carpet gripper at no additional charge. If underlay is required, it will be provided at an extra cost, as customers may already have underlay. Carpet joining will be performed where necessary to create a seamless transition across the area, and any cutting or adjustments will be made to accommodate doorways and awkward spaces to ensure a precise fit.

6. Cancellations, Returns, and Refunds

  • Returns and Complaints:

    • For complaints regarding faults, we follow the supplier’s complaint procedures. Visible defects should be reported within 30 days. If a fault is confirmed, a replacement or repair will be arranged.

    • In cases of dispute, an independent third-party inspection may be arranged, with costs borne by the customer if the fault is not verified.

    • Custom-cut rugs and runners remain non-returnable and non-refundable unless proven to be faulty.

  • Custom Rug and Runner Orders: Once measurements and specifications have been confirmed or payment has been made, custom-cut rugs and runners cannot be cancelled or refunded.

  • Exclusions: Complaints related to normal wear, shading, matting, pile reversal, tracking, or issues caused by improper maintenance will not be accepted.

7. Substrates

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the substrate (floor base) is suitable for installation. In-depth substrate inspections are not included in our service, and issues post-installation due to unsuitable substrates are not eligible for complaint. Installation assumes that the substrate has been checked and approved by the customer.

8. Size Tolerance

A tolerance of plus or minus 1.25% is allowable in carpet size according to British Standard 3655 (1974).

9. Pile Reversal and Shading

Pile reversal or shading is a natural phenomenon in cut pile carpets that may cause light or dark areas. This does not impact the durability of the carpet and is not considered a manufacturing fault.

10. Filtration Soiling

Filtration soiling, dark lines caused by airborne particles, may occur at carpet edges. This is not a carpet defect, and while treatments may reduce its visibility, complete removal can be challenging. Professional cleaning may be necessary for best results.

11. Warranty and Liability

Products are covered by standard manufacturer warranties. Carpet Corner is not liable for damage due to improper third-party installation or general wear. After installation, we recommend following the manufacturer’s guidelines for the care and maintenance of your new flooring. Failure to follow the care instructions may void the warranty. For carpets, regular vacuuming is essential, and for vinyl and other flooring types, appropriate cleaning products should be used. Carpet Corner is not liable for any damage resulting from improper maintenance or cleaning.

11.1 Uplift and Disposal

If you have opted for our ‘uplift and disposal’ service, the fitter will remove your old flooring and all offcuts and packaging from your new flooring. Even if you have paid for the service, the fitter will only carry out this work if the floor covering is not soiled and there is no health and safety risk to the fitter in respect of the product being uplifted. Your fitter will return the flooring removed to Carpet Corner for disposal. If you have decided not to opt for this service, it is your responsibility to uplift your existing flooring prior to the fitters’ arrival. Your fitter will then bag up any offcuts from your new flooring and leave them for you to dispose of. If you would like to keep any offcuts, please advise your fitter upon arrival at your home. Please ensure that the contents of the room are cleared prior to the fitting date to avoid any delays or inconvenience with your fitting. If there is any furniture that cannot be removed from the room, please discuss this with us prior to the installation date.

11.2 Damage and Scuff Marks

Fitters commit to performing their work with the utmost skill and care. However, despite taking all precautions, it is possible that marks, scuffs, or other minor damage may occur to your home décor during the fitting process. This is particularly the case with newly painted walls or freshly applied wallpaper, which are more susceptible to damage. To minimise the risk, we strongly recommend allowing at least two weeks for paintwork and wallpaper to fully dry before fitting begins.

Neither Carpet Corner nor any fitters or third-party installers working on our behalf will be liable for redecoration, unless the damage is caused directly by the fitter's negligence or improper handling. We advise taking steps to protect vulnerable areas of your home before the fitting date, and we cannot accept liability for damage to surfaces or finishes that could have been prevented with proper care.

11.3 Offcuts and Roll Ends

Carpet Corner offers a selection of offcuts and roll ends to provide an economical flooring solution suitable for smaller rooms, budget-conscious projects, and one-off installations. These items, which vary in size, colour, texture, and pattern, are available on an “as-is” basis and are sold subject to minor imperfections arising from their nature as remnants of previous projects. Due to the surplus nature of these products, availability, dimensions, and specifications may vary, and Carpet Corner makes no guarantee as to the continued availability or specific condition of any particular offcut or roll end. All sales of offcuts and roll ends are non-returnable, non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Offcuts and roll ends are sold in fixed dimensions only and can not be altered, resized, or customised in any way before sale. Customers are encouraged to visit our showroom to view available stock, and Carpet Corner shall not be liable for any claims related to the availability, condition, or suitability of offcuts and roll ends for specific uses.

11.4 Door Shortening

Doors may shortening to allow clearance for your selected floor covering, depending on its depth. Door shortening is not included in the fitting service unless specifically agreed upon. Fitters may temporarily remove doors during installation and leave them ready for you or your carpenter to handle shortening and re-hanging. If you need fire doors, external doors, or non-wood doors trimmed, a specialist carpenter will be required, and Carpet Corner does not provide or arrange this service. Additionally, we cannot remove or arrange for the removal of any doors, so please ensure all necessary arrangements are in place before the installation date to avoid any delays.

12. Health and Safety

For the safety of both our customers and fitters, Carpet Corner reserves the right to refuse to carry out any installation where health and safety risks are present (e.g., unsafe floors, hazardous conditions, etc.). Customers must inform us of any known health or safety concerns prior to installation. Carpet Corner will not be liable for any accidents or injuries that occur due to unsafe or hazardous conditions.

13. Data Protection

Customer data is handled according to our Privacy Policy, ensuring your information is used solely for service provision.

14. Force Majeure

Neither Carpet Corner nor the customer shall be held liable for any failure or delay in the performance of their obligations under these Terms and Conditions due to events beyond their control, including but not limited to strikes, lockouts, natural disasters, fire, or other unforeseen events that cannot be reasonably prevented.

15. Dispute Resolution

For disputes, please contact us directly. If unresolved, both parties agree to mediation before legal action.

16. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts within this region.
